Another powerful story, thanks.

Did these levels of toxicity develop in Mike simply as a result of the chicken nuggets and pizza? (Where did warmed Gerber mashed peas ever go?)

If so, this sounds like conditions brought on by cheap, fast and easy food choices made by the parents from the time he could take in food. Those choices are made millions of times a day, which is no doubt part of the problem.

Was there any way to measure Mike's individual sensitivity to these overloads? Is there any way to do that?

Mark N. Mead

No, food is not the problem; it is only a trigger or secondary insult. As stated in the article, most of these children are born with detoxification defects that were probably created in the womb, as a result of exposure to environmental pollutants at critical windows of vulnerability for the developing embryo. This makes the child exceptionally vulnerable to substances that would ordinarily be detoxified -- that is, broken down or neutralized, and then excreted.

The logo itself is inspiring.
